Deep Dive Strategy Reports 

Deep Dives are an in-depth exploration of community school implementation, partnering with three implementation grantees to capture a “vertical slice” of the system—from practice to policy levels (e.g., schools to R-TAC). This approach provides a systems-level understanding of CCSPP implementation while building evaluative and collective capacity for improvement and transformation. As part of the S-TAC’s methodology, Deep Dives offer reciprocal learning opportunities by directly supporting schools in their transition to community schools. This support includes:

• Data Systems and Evaluation – Strengthening the use of data to inform decisions.
• Service Integration – Enhancing support systems within schools.
• Community Engagement – Improving processes for meaningful collaboration.
• Continuous Improvement – Establishing cycles of learning and adaptation.

Shasta COE Community Connect

This report highlights how the Shasta County Office of Education developed an innovative, data-informed referral and case management system to address barriers to student success through a whole-child approach. This resource demonstrates how local data can be used to strengthen integrated student supports, guide continuous improvement, and foster cross-sector collaboration. CCSPP grantees will gain practical insights into designing local data systems that connect students and families with services while informing decision-making and advancing sustainable community school implementation.

Val Verde School District: Leveraging Local Data to Improve Student Well- Being 

This report highlights how Tomás Rivera Middle School uses local, real-time data to strengthen student well-being, restorative practices, and continuous improvement. Through its Wellness Center model, the school combines student, staff, and family data with collaborative decision-making to provide timely, tiered supports that address students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. CCSPP grantees will gain practical strategies for using local data to inform whole-child supports, foster positive school culture, and create responsive systems that improve outcomes for students and families.

Family Engagement Toolkit: Continuous Improvement through an Equity Lens

This toolkit helps districts integrate meaningful family engagement into academic and social-emotional learning goals to improve student outcomes. Grounded in the Dual Capacity-Building Framework, it emphasizes building both educator and family capacity, with a strong focus on equity and inclusion. Designed for district leaders, it offers adaptable strategies, tools, and a continuous improvement process to support effective and equitable family engagement across schools.
